Female Buddy Support Worker in London

About The Role
Our client is a young girl born in 2008 who requires a part-time Buddy/Support Worker. Our Client lives with her parents in their own house. She likes to be busy and enjoys being in her garden, riding her bicycle or scooter and playing with friends.
Our client goes to school on her bicycle/scooter or sometimes walks. Her walking is improving and as she gets stronger she can do more fun things. She would like to start joining some clubs and after school activities and to do this she will need someone to be with her.
Overview:
Our client would like her Buddy to help her join in and enjoy herself at after school club/s and activities and at Brownies. She is very motivated and wants to be successful in lots of activities/leisure pursuits in the local community, and at home.
Location:
Shirley, Croydon, South London.
Hours:
Approximately 5 hours per week providing support after school on Thursday/Fridays with the potential for more hours during the school day / at weekends as the role develops. Flexible extended shifts during holiday time.
Remuneration:
£10 - £12.50 per hour Monday – Friday depending on experience. Ongoing training and support provided, 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata, sickness benefit and free DBS check.
About You
*Female – personal care required.
experience of working with children/adults with special needs preferred but enthusiasm, patience and willingness to learn desirable.
Confident working in a family home; sensitive to the needs and wishes of the client and her family; able to demonstrate the need for confidentiality and privacy, reliable and trustworthy.
Proactive, encouraging, creative with a good sense of humour.
Flexible - to help with the family and general running of the household.
A full driving license (endorsements to be disclosed).
Non Smoker.
Satisfactory references and proof of eligibility to work in the UK required.
This position requires a disclosure request from the DBS.
A conviction will not necessarily prevent you from being employed.

ILS recruit on behalf of their clients and therefore, if you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection. However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role. Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.
