We're a fun, happy and loving family of five looking for a live in nanny or experienced au pair to join our family who is highly organised, tidy and reliable to smoothly juggle our children's needs working full time Monday to Friday 730am to 730pm with babysitting two nights a week.
Our three children are 5.5 yr old girl (DOB 20.5.12) and 3 yr old twin boys (DOB 3.9.14) so we are looking for someone who has previous experience of handling the needs of both pre-school and school age children. They are a huge amount of fun and, with both of us working full time, we are looking for someone who will provide continuity and create a happy and playful environment for them.
As both parents work full time, the job will be sole charge requiring whoever joins us to be happy to work independently. During term time the job will involve walking our eldest to school in Holland Park (a short walk from home) and then dropping the boys off at nursery locally on the way back (they currently do 5 mornings a week during term time). The children also enjoy weekly after school swimming lessons, ballet and drama clubs in the immediate area and you would be responsible for getting them to these and organising the kit needed for each activity. Homework and reading are practised daily so an interest in educational development is key.
The children love the outdoors so we would like whoever is in charge of them to be happy to play with them taking them on walks, to the parks etc. We have lived in the area for 7 years and with the nursery/school network there are plenty of friends nearby. The children are sociable and we have lots of friends and so we would like the person to enjoy spending time with others and to be happy to socialize with other nannies and mothers. We also have a house in Buckinghamshire and would like the candidate to feel enthusiastic about spending time there in the school holidays - because of this a driver is essential.
Daily duties include:
Getting the children dressed in the morning and giving them breakfast.
Taking the children to and from their respective schools/nursery.
Helping with homework.
Keeping the children happily entertained when not at school.
Managing their attendance of clubs (swimming, ballet, drama, etc).
Cooking simple, healthy meals.
Bath time and getting the children ready for bed.
Arranging play dates.
Washing the children's clothes, bedsheets and keep their rooms/wardrobes/playroom tidy.
2 week nights of babysitting per week Monday-Thursday.
We have a cleaner who comes in each week, so your role will be focused on looking after the children and their needs (with some additional support during term time overseeing household admin).
The person we are looking for will:
Have a minimum of two years experience as sole charge full time nanny/au pair with the experience of looking after both pre-school and school age children.
Be an experienced driver with a full UK, clean driving licence.
Enjoy creative, active and educational play with young children.
Take an active interest in the children's time at school and their development.
Speak completely fluent English.
Anticipate working with us for 2 + years (for the sake of continuity for the children and we have only had one nanny to date for 5.5 years!).
Like dogs (though dog duties are not a requirement of the role we have a very friendly whippet who is a much loved member of the family!)
Be Ofsted registered (or happy to get registered).
We live near Brook Green in a spacious 4 bed house with a nice south facing garden and generous playroom. The house is very near Brook Green which has a great playground for the kids to run around and enjoy. We are also a 10 minute walk from Holland Park and Westfield. We are also away most weekends in the countryside.
The accommodation is on the top floor of the house and is a generous double bedroom with TV and a bathroom shared with the children.
If you are interested in the job, please apply with your CV, a covering letter explaining why you would like to join us, and two referees that are happy to be called by telephone. We would need you to be available for a face to face interview before Christmas. PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU GENUINELY LOVE CHILDREN, HAVE CHILDCARE experience, SPEAK FLUENT ENGLISH AND CAN COMMIT TO STAYING FOR approximately 2 years.
