SUMMARY
MeWe is a not-for-profit business incubator based in Soho. We help entrepreneurs launch and grow businesses in the arts and creative industries including music, theatre, TV, art, fashion, photography and design. A vital and growing part of our service is providing our community of creative entrepreneurs, who make up our membership, with an affordable home to create, show and sell their work at our Soho offices (currently one site, but with plans to expand). We also hire event space to companies such as Nike, the BBC, Converse, Viktor Rolf, Samsung and Selfridges. The income from this allows us to subsidise our programme and services to members.
This role is pivotal in driving the MeWe business model and in turn the core services to our members. We are looking for someone business-minded, with a ‘can-do’ attitude and an interest in working in a creative space.
The job-holder will:
Manage the maintenance and IT of MeWe properties.
Oversee the smooth running of MeWe’s facilities.
The job holder will be someone with ambition, willing to develop their skills and take on new challenges as the company grows. As a developer of entrepreneurs and a growing organisation MeWe is also keen to invest in the development of its staff.

JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Facilities
Oversee the smooth running of MeWe Properties, including as required:
• Open and close properties
• Reception
• Keep all areas clean and free of litter
• Keep bin areas clean and tidy
• Replenish bar and kitchen areas throughout the day
• Ensure facilities comply and remain up-to-date with regulatory health and safety standards and relevant MeWe policies.
2. IT and Maintenance
Oversee the maintenance of MeWe Properties, including as required:
• Coordinate and oversee maintenance of properties, equipment and services including but not limited to internet survives.
• Inspect all rooms before and after hires leave and make good damages prior to next hire and report all maintenance issues arising to senior MeWe management.
• Repaint/touch up small areas within the properties as necessary.
• Move and assemble furniture.
• Undertake repairs and maintenance within the property.
• Change light bulbs, read electric meters.
• Inspect and report on repair jobs completed by contractors
• Maintain records of activities undertaken
• To liaise with the emergency services if required
• To train in the operation of the fire alarm and intruder alarm and be competent enough to deal with issues as they arise
• The role includes regular manual handling, lone and assisted lifting tasks to facilitate the movement of equipment and furniture
PERSON SPECIFICATION
experience (Preferred)
• Basic knowledge of health and safety, plumbing and electrical systems
• experience using hand and electrical tools
• Ability to read and create technical manuals and drawings
Attributes and attitudes
• Capacity to deliver work to consistently high quality and accurate standard.
• Resilience and ability to adapt if plans need to change.
• Take ownership and pride in how they fulfil the role and tasks.
• Flexible and adaptive in response to changing team needs, including supporting others to successfully meet their targets.
