We are a new and rapidly expanding funky, dynamic, fast-paced, fun loving and ever changing youth work charity in East London, with some amazing and exciting volunteer opportunities for people with bags of energy and enthusiasm and a willingness to help make Eastside Youth the best youth work charity in the world.
Youth Work Changes Lives and at Eastside Youth this is our mantra, and we aim to facilitate that change by giving young people aged 11 to 25 years old based in East London the tools and skills to lead active and independent lives by providing interactive and engaging structured youth activities, training opportunities and support that will help improve their physical, mental, emotional, social and educational well-being.
We have a huge passion for young people and helping to improve their lives and have setup our charity in response to the massive and severe funding cuts to youth services and closures of youth projects across East London, leaving young people with a lack of positive things to do and feeling isolated alone and having nowhere else to turn in a time where young people already feel segregated from society with no real voice.
We are looking for experienced youth workers to join Eastside Youth as volunteers in one of our leadership roles, such as;
1. Youth Workers
2. Lead Youth Workers
3. Youth Services Manager
4. Youth Support Manager
5. Other roles that will benefit young people and help us become an amazing youth work charity.
If you have a role in mind that you would like to take on or do, then please contact us and we can aim to accommodate your volunteer interests.
All these roles require a few hours per week during the evenings and occasional weekends - flexible to help us create and run some amazing youth work activities and programs for young people in East London that will give young people new experiences and opportunities to grow and develop and Broaden their horizons.
Who We Are Looking For?:
• Positive, quick thinking and solution focused.
• Self-motivated, organised and hands on.
• Approachable, professional and friendly with excellent communication and presentation skills, able to engage with people on different levels.
• Great people management and leadership skills and qualities.
• Previous experience of working with young people within a youth work setting is desirable but not essential if you have other relevant transferable experience, such as a teacher or social worker for example.
• Desirable qualification in youth work but not essential.
• Ability to motivate, inspire and gain trust of both young people and team members, as well as key stakeholders.
