Experienced waiter/waitress, urgently sought for The English Restaurant, Spitalfields
We are looking for a full time person with waiting experience and would very much favour someone with strong wine knowledge. Our style is traditional but not stuffy, efficient but not too formal. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and have a lively, independent bar. Our team of highly trained chefs specialises in traditional English dishes although we also admit to strong French influences. Our wine list is exclusively French and we source all our wines ourselves directly from France. We serve high quality Beers from the Continent and the UK, both on tap and by the bottle, and have a wide range of spirits and cocktails. The English Restaurant is a one-off and is family owned. It is set in a beautifully restored early Georgian building in the heart of historic Spitalfields.
An ideal candidate must be enthusiastic for providing excellent service and championing our unique restaurant. You should be hard-working and reliable. A strong ability to communicate in English is essential as is a full entitlement to work in the UK.
A full time position is based around a 5-shift/week Rota of around 40 hours. Weekend and evening work is essential. We pay generously with a basic hourly rate plus a share of tronc, and all staff receive the full holiday entitlement.
