We specialise in the design, fabrication and installation of dynamic rooflights, windows, walls, floors and even moving, transforming furniture.
We are looking for an experienced and committed bookkeeper to work with our small, friendly team to ensure a smooth transition from our current accountant and manage the day-to-day accounting operations for the company.
This part-time role is anticipated to require a commitment of around 8 - 10days / month, with the potential to expand to 12days / month as the role evolves. To ensure a close working relationship with the meia team, the successful candidate will be required to work, on average, 2 days / week in the office.
The average dimensions of the job are (annually):
15 Jobs
87 Sales invoices
1100 Purchase Orders
8 Employees (paid monthly)
6 Subcontractors (paid monthly)
2 Directors (paid monthly)
The successful individual will be responsible for:
Payroll and employee expenses (monthly)
Purchase Ledger, paying invoices and managing relationships with suppliers (bimonthly - end of month and mid-month)
Sales Ledger including credit control (weekly)
VAT submissions (quarterly)
Production of internal Management Accounts, including the reconciled balance sheet account and Profit and Loss account (monthly)
Preparing the cash flow forecast (monthly)
Project budget reporting - predicted versus actual time and expenses costs (monthly)
Providing information to external accountant to allow them to prepare end of year company accounts (annually)
Assisting with other regular accounting and time-recording tasks.
Qualifications, skills and experience required to do the role:
Recognised bookkeeping qualification (ATT / ICB or similar) or equivalently qualified through experience.
Minimum 3 years experience.
Organised, forward-thinking, thorough, proactive with great attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
Excellent and effective communicator.
Extensive experience of Sage 50 essential. experience of Xero or other cloud-based accounting software an advantage.
Superior knowledge of MS Excel database tools and good general computer skills, including a good knowledge of MS Office.
