Experienced Blown Film Extrusion Operator in Hayes

We are seeking an experienced Blown Film Extrusion Machine Operator for a polythene bag manufacturer which produces a wide range of polythene film and bags.
The successful candidate will have at least one years’ experience in operating a blown film extrusion machine. All applicants must have a good attitude, team ethic and be willing to learn.
Job entails close attention to detail, safety procedures and moderate lifting.
The position will work on our rolling 12 hr shift pattern – four days on, three days off (7am-7pm). This will require some weekend shifts.
We are also seeking an operator for the night shifts (7pm-7am), with a similar schedule to above.
The successful applicant will be responsible for operating, adjusting, and maintaining extruders, printing and bag making equipment. They must demonstrate a level-headed approach to their work with strong hands on delivery.
Duties:
• Reading job specification sheets and obtaining all applicable tools and materials.
• Obtain the correct raw materials, cores, pallets, labels, wrapping and banding as specified on the job specification sheet and required to efficiently carry out the job.
• Monitor the performance of the extrusion machine ensuring minimum scrap level (target level 5%) is achieved at all times.
• Setting up machine to run jobs.
• Carrying out machine adjustments as needed.
• Material loading, control and loading.
• Monitor the performance of the extrusion machine ensuring maximum output is achieved at all times.
• Operating recycling machinery as directed by supervisor or line manager.
• Ensuring target output is achieved with excellent quality and compliance to customer requirements and quality standards.
• Identifying and promptly reporting any equipment malfunction, material, safety, and or quality issues.
• Report, and remedy where appropriate, any breach of health and safety policy immediately to a Supervisor or Line Manager.
• Working closely with other members of the team to assure a cooperative and friendly atmosphere with regard to the daily activities of production.
• Ensure that all finished goods are labelled correctly, stacked and wrapped safely and meet the company's high presentation standards.
• Completing forms and quality measurements per production run.
• Manufacturing finished product to weekly schedule.
• Daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance.
• Performing special projects and assignments as directed by supervisory personnel.
• Other duties as required and requested by line manager.
Education and or Related experience: No education qualification is necessary but must have at least one years’ experience in operation of a blown film extrusion machine. A current forklift truck licence would be helpful.
Salary and benefits: £10 - £12 per hour depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time according to shift schedule above. The permanent position is subject to the successful applicant completing a probationary period to the satisfaction of the line managers.
