We are a new pub in Stoke Newington focusing on serving delicious high quality seasonal food and the best beer known to mankind. The Axe is a bustling pub with a steady and growing weekday trade, a brisk Saturday brunch and a very popular Sunday roast. Our menu is Modern-European with some stalwart favourite dishes and monthly changing items which reflect seasonality.
We are looking for an ambitious and talented Sous chef who is eager to deliver quality food within a friendly and hardworking team. The Axe is part of a fast expanding group which will present opportunities for career progression.
You would be working closely with the Head Chef who will be transitioning to an Executive Head Chef position in the future, making this position perfect for an experienced Sous Chef preparing to take the next step.
Desirable qualities include:
-experience with modern European cuisine
-Good communication skills
-Calm and efficient under pressure
-Flair for details
-Both good team player and team leader
-Commitment to ongoing training and coaching of the kitchen team.
-Food Hygiene Level 2 or above
-The passion and desire to move forward in their career
Computer literate
