Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and fun individual to join us as a Barista in our salon’s specific coffee house service offerings. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively meet the needs of our guests.
They ensure that the coffee house and bar are running smoothly and; they also make sure client satisfaction is maintained.
General Responsibilities:
. Making and serving beverages to customers from the coffee house area.
. Greets all customers with fast, friendly, personalised service and develops a rapport with customers by learning their names and usual drinks.
. Verbally receives and calls back customer orders in a friendly manner.
. Accurately rings sales orders into cash register and counts back change to customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
. Answers telephone in a courteous and friendly manner including, but not limited to, giving store greeting, directions to store location, and assist with taking appointments for nails and beauty into our booking system.
. Maintains efficient, friendly service.
. Work in close liaison with the Coffee House Manager and Bartender to ensure smooth daily operations and maximize profits.
. To develop and manage relationships with customers, staff and suppliers.
. To manage all aspects of the daily running of the coffee house including some food preparation, restocking of goods to the coffee house in liaison with the Coffee House Manager, ensuring its smooth running and proper administration.
. Managing inventory and maintaining a regular stock checking and replenishment schedule.
∙ Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the coffee house and salon.
∙ Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
∙ Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products.
∙ Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilisation as directed by law and the salon’s policies and procedures.
∙ Assist with coffee house and bar cleaning duties.
∙ Perform prep work and properly clean and restock work area as required.
∙ Actively promote the coffee house, salon, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
∙ Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
∙ Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
∙ Possess ability to work without direct supervision.
∙ Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
∙ Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the salon.
Job Qualifications
Education:
∙ Minimum GCSEs
Skills, experience and Qualities:
∙ Minimum of 1 year barista experience.
. Knowledge of coffee, other hot beverage products and basic concoctions of alcoholic beverages.
. Practical coffee making skills.
. Possess a creative flair in the presentation of beverages.
. Runs errands, when needed, to pick up supplies and/or product.
. May work special events, as needed.
. Maintains positive Company morale and professional attitude.
. Excellent verbal and written skills.
. Well-organised and detail-oriented.
. Regularly required to handle food and hot beverages.
∙ Strong customer service background preferred.
∙ Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.
∙ Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
∙ Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge.
∙ Must be a team player.
. Excellent knowledge of the barista and bartender industry and an up to date skill set when it comes to preparing beverages.
. Ability to remain fair and professional at all times.
. Ability to deal with “difficult” coffee house situations such as client complaints and staff disagreements in a diplomatic fashion.
. An up to date and thorough knowledge of current health and safety in the workplace regulations.
. Excellent cash handling.
. Willingness to work flexible hours.
. Have exceptional customer care skills.
