We are seeking experienced, ambitious and hard-working chefs to join our friendly, talented and dedicated team. We have a strong team of chefs who have previously worked at Mission E2, Hix, The Palomar, Ottolenghi, Berber and Q, The Marksman and restaurants in Tel Aviv in our beautiful restaurant in Stoke Newington, Hackney

Salary range: £25,000-£30,000

Successful candidates will be able to balance food quality and consistency with creativity and excellent standards of food hygiene.
They must ensure the smooth running of the kitchen during a busy service and take initiative when needed.

Job Specifics:
------------------
Food :
- Ensuring that food served is of a high standard and quality
⁃ Ensuring that food served is consistent with recipes
⁃ Ensuring the efficiency of services and the kitchen in general
⁃ Following guidelines to ensure that food served is safe to eat
Operations:
- Make sure that the kitchen is operating and running as efficiently as
possible
- Monitor stock movement and be responsible for ordering
- Ensure minimum kitchen wastage.
- Ensure knowledge of the product is maintained and communicated to all relevant
personnel.
- Liaise with the management team and implement new menu/dishes/systems where
applicable
- Ensure all statutory regulations are adhered to, such as food hygiene policies
- To be flexible and willing to help the restaurant kitchen at busy times if required
- Ultimately responsible for the cleanliness and safety of the kitchen area and the stock room.
Other:
- As well as ensuring that the food is consistent, it is important to be knowledgeable about the product and take responsibility for any additional research required.
-To work with the FOH team and Restaurant Manager to ensure that the front of
house team are engaged with and trained on The Good Egg food.
- Responsible for hitting targets for food General Practitioner and kitchen staff costs
The successful candidate for this position should also possess the following experience and abilities:
- Previous experience as a sous or head chef within a busy restaurant is vital
- The ability to work quickly and efficiently
- A passion for creativity, organisation and a cool head in a busy service
- Be able to work closely with the small kitchen and front of house team
