Tate Catering is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tate. Our activities range from providing a restorative cup of tea to a weary visitor, right the way through to catering for special events being held by Tate’s corporate sponsors. Our aim is to be the market-leading caterer within the arts and to consistently provide outstanding food, drink and service at the four Tate sites and the other sites within our business.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our front of house events team as a permanent Supervisor with Tate Entertaining. Working across both London galleries, your working week will be incredibly varied and will include weekend, evening and daytime shifts. Hours offered vary from week-to-week, but can be over 40 hours with September to December and March to July being the busiest periods. In the quieter months such as January and August this can drop to 1-2 events per week.

We are looking for an individual with a real passion for events, and a talent for the delivery of exceptional customer service. The successful applicant with show they have a real love for food and they must have hospitality experience.

This role requires a keen eye for detail, a calm and friendly demeanour and great organisational and communication skills. You will have the ability to inspire, lead and manage all FOH and casual agency staff within Tate Entertaining, work under pressure and be a good problem solver.

Although mainly customer facing there will be an element of office time including event preparation, staff management and stocktakes, therefore, working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook is preferable. You will also be responsibility for ensuring all working areas are kept clean and tidy and the opening and closing procedures including equipment load outs are supervised.

As this role is customer-facing the successful candidate will need to be fluent in both spoken and written English, and be over 18 years of age for the purposes of Licensing laws.
