Looking for enthusiastic and hard-working Event Porters to come and join our fast growing team.
As an Event Porter, you will be responsible for preparing our fleet of vehicles for events and then driving food and equipment to the venue, unloading, loading in and supporting the team on site. You will spend a lot of time at events and venues, setting up, tearing down, liaising with chefs and events managers etc. Your responsibilities will change throughout the event and it is important that you are focused and adapt quickly to the change in role. You will liaise closely with the Event Manager (on site), and Warehouse Manager (at base) to ensure that you understand the requirements for each event and the equipment and delivery schedule for each day.
Your duties will include:
Driving to and from events in our vans and trucks.
Loading / unloading – vehicles returning or being dispatched to events. When unloading, isolating broken or dirty equipment for attention by the Warehouse Assistants.
Packing – working to detailed checklists with the Warehouse Manager.
Organising set ups at venues (furniture), in the wine bin (wine and glass preparation) and in the kitchen (counting and prep of crockery and cutlery).
Health and Safety – ensure that you, and all staff are carrying out their tasks in a safe manner and that we are providing a safe working environment for all staff and guests with our mobile set up.
About You
This is a responsible role within the company and we will look for the following attributes in our ideal candidate:
Perfect spoken and written English
Physically fit
Immaculate personal presentation
experience of hospitality - waiting work / bar work.
Personal ambition and dynamism
Attention to detail
Driving License A, B
The ability to follow instruction
The ability to work within a team, and independently.
Salary
Starting at £10.20 per hour for an average of 50 hours per week, including some weekend days, over 5 days.
This employment will begin on a fixed term contract. If the contract is a success and we can see the potential for progression a further contract will be offered to begin in September.
