Rhythms of Life is a charity that provides food, clothing and support to the homeless and other vulnerable individuals in London. We are a small team comprised entirely of dedicated volunteers.
We are looking for an innovative and enthusiastic candidate who has had previous experience in events planning/management and have a good understanding of logistics. We are currently getting ready for World Homeless Day (10/10/2022) and are looking for a person who must be organised, efficient and an excellent communicator in order to put on an art exhibition on this day. You must be passionate about improving the lives of homeless and other vulnerable people. With professional support and guidance you will gain skills in events coordination, business communications and administration.
Key responsibilities will include:
Planning event aspects, such as venue, seating, dining, and guest list
Delegating event planning tasks to other volunteers where necessary
Coordinating event entertainment, including music, performers, and guest speakers
Staying under budget and appealing for donations whilst planning events
Issuing invoices and collecting payments as well as creating comprehensive financial reports
Managing and overseeing situations on the day of events
Communicating with PR team to create effective advertisements and awareness for each event
Anticipating and planning for different scenarios
In order to apply you should have the following:
Previous administrative and co-ordination experience in event planning
Genuine empathy for the Rhythms of Life’s causes
Excellent communication and engagement skills
Self-motivated and pro-active approach
We ask for 2-3 days a week to help achieve our goals and aspirations, ideally on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday but this is flexible.
