Rhubarb is expanding its family at the iconic Royal Albert Hall
With over 20 years of experience , offering deliciously different food and drink, and service standards that are second to none, rhubarb is one of the most well renowned brands in the world of food hospitality.
Since January 2011, rhubarb have been at the Royal Albert Hall providing all food and drink at one of the world's most iconic venues. The Royal Albert Hall operation consists of 3 dining spaces: Verdi Italian Kitchen, Coda Restaurant, Elgar Bar and Grill, 14 bars, 1 retail outlet, 147 hospitality boxes and offers seated dinners for up to 2000 guests on a special raised floor in the auditorium.
We are now seeking a talented and enthusiastic Events Intern / Box co-coordinator to join our fun and energetic team, so come and be a part of the story rhubarb is writing.
This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody who is looking to begin their career in the exciting world of events.
Internship overview
- Reporting into the Head of Event Sales, you will mainly be responsible for the F and B bookings in all public boxes.
- This includes managing the dedicated inbox, responding to phone and email enquiries and communicating the orders to the operational teams on a daily basis.
- Spending 30% of your time on the floor, gaining experience in the various departments and especially assisting the Events team with VIP clients.
- Assisting the Events planning team in creating and preparing the overall weekly event planning activities, as per customer's requirements and original briefings-
Progressively take on more responsibilities and dealing with small internal bookings, involving creating quotes and function sheets
- Conduct research of specific themes or concepts
- Assist in updating planners diary , sales forecast/actual with show details and monthly calendar of events
- Various ad hoc general administrative enquiries, requests
Candidate profile
- A passion for the events industry and an eagerness to learn, and develop within it
- You will be proficient within MS office, display great attention to detail and are methodological in your work approach.
- You will be an excellent team player, able to communicate at all levels and have the ability to inspire and lead a team.
- You will have the ability to motivate, develop and lead the team by demonstrating initiative and enthusiasm.
- You will show relevant diplomacy and tact and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Planning, time management and organisational skills are key.
