Events and Marketing Manager at Wiltons on Jermyn Street

Since Wiltons was established in 1742, it has consistently enjoyed a reputation as the epitome of fine British dining in London. The atmosphere is perfectly matched with the immaculately prepared wild fish, shellfish, and game in season and meat dishes sourced from the finest farms.
Wiltons combines a modern philosophy on service with all that is traditionally British to create the perfect dining experience. Noted since 1742 for the finest oysters, fish and game.
The restaurant’s sister restaurant is Franco’s also on Jermyn Street, both of which are owned by the Hambros family.
Wiltons is open for lunch and dinner from Monday to Friday and dinner on Saturday’s.
The Role and Duties:
We are looking for a Professional Events and Marketing Manager to join our team of managers which includes the Head Chef Daniel Kent, Restaurant Manager Michael Stokes and Director Jason Phillips.
-Maximize and manage the use of the private dining area, large table reservations in the restaurant and exclusive hire events.
-Marketing of the restaurant through the use of social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.
-Actively engage in business development activities such as attending networking events, developing business leads through direct contacts.
-Design and implement seasonal marketing promotions.
-Working 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday – Occasional evening work dependant on events.
-Annual earnings starting at £28,000 up to £35,000 dependent on experience and includes participation in the restaurant's tronc scheme.
Ideal Candidate:
-Fluent in written and spoken English.
-Have a good food and drinks knowledge, having a good understanding of menu design and wine pairing.
-Be able to touch type a minimum of 40 wpm.
-Have strong and confident negotiation skills.
-Be a good time manager and cope well under pressure and have the ability to multi task.
-Have recent experience of managing enquiries and confirming private dining room or events.
-Have experience of organising a range of private dining events, breakfasts, meetings, presentations, corporate dinners, social events, birthday’s and weddings.
-Have experience in drafting proposals and advising guests of food and drink options.
-Have experience in working to guest budgets and be able to recommended solutions that meet both the restaurant and guest requirements and expectations.
-Have experience of cold calling, being able to reach the appropriate people in the targeted organisation and introduce the restaurant with the aim of inviting the client to the restaurant for an introduction and show around.
-Have had experience of managing and hosting show rounds and entertaining potential clients.
-Have experience of attending networking events and have the ability and willingness to approach people and engage in conversation with the aim of introducing the restaurant and developing a potential new contact.
-Have experience in creating and implementing marketing promotions.
-Have experience in designing promotional material.
-Have knowledge of using social media as a marketing tool and interacting with guests on-line.
-Be able to host events such as PA drinks, dinners and similar networking events.
