Secure-Ops Ltd is now recruiting for the positions of an Event security supervisor.
Secure-Ops is a specialist events, exhibitions, leisure Security Company, that has secured the needs of a number of high profile events and exhibitions throughout the country.
As a key member of the Secure-Ops event security team you will be responsible for supervising the security officers assigned to an Event. As a Event Supervisor you will be a focal point for the communication between the Venue, the Client and the Company management and as such you are accountable for ensuring that all matters relating to service delivery are communicated to all stakeholders in line with established communication procedures.
You will also be accountable for ensuring that all staff are fully briefed on the event they are working, incident reporting procedures are known to all officers on the site. Your performance and that of the team of officers you supervise must meet or exceed the expectations of Secure-Ops and our clients.
Personal Skills;
Applicants must have a positive attitude, be service-oriented, present a professional image, and possess excellent observation and communication skills; good judgment; integrity; self-discipline; and give strong attention to the details. The applicant must be able to write post event reports. Applicants must be able to demonstrate leadership skills, be self-motivated and flexible to accommodate last minute changes.
Role and responsibilities
• Supervise all Security Staff during the event.
• You will allocate and rotate duties and plan rest breaks fairly and equitably.
• You will be signing staff in and out every day on the paper sheets which will be provided by the office.
• Assist all security staff as necessary and encourage pro-active security duties.
• Respond to any distress calls from staff immediately.
• You need to ensure all staff are briefed on the event passes, wristbands and lanyards etc and accredit any persons that do not have an event pass in line with the client’s procedure.
• Maintain a security presence within the event area.
• You will conduct regular walk-rounds of the Event space to ensure that operations are being conducted in compliance with the Company and the Venue procedures as described in the method statement.
• You will ensure that all officers reporting for duty on the site are suitably dressed and are briefed for the duties allocated to them and will ensure that they understand those instructions.
• Conduct on commencement of shift an officer briefing this must include any intelligence about current alert status and penetration testing to all members of staff, ensuring that you maintain good communications throughout your operational area.
• You will escalate any serious issues relating to conduct or capability of officers to your line manager for action, giving full details of the matter and record the incident.
• Liaise with the Client, Venue Event Management and venue Security before, during and after each event
• You will do everything within the scope of your responsibility to meet our client’s needs and you will work in partnership with the client and the Venue to support the delivery of the services. In the event that issues are raised that exceed the scope of your role, you will immediately escalate to your line manager for guidance.
• You will be responsible for the safety and comfort of staff within the designated area during the working period.
• You will have to ensure all safety checks are carried out and report back any findings to the venue Control.
• You will have to report any suspicious activity to the venue Control
• You need to comply promptly with any instruction given in an emergency by the safety officer, control, or the Police.
• You need to be aware of the Venue’s Emergency Evacuation procedures which are in place.
• You need to maintain an awareness and observation of staff and public Health and Safety in the Event.
• Ensure any queues are managed effectively and summons assistance when required.
• To collect and report any information from the event back to Venue Control/Secure-Ops Head office.
• Report to Control any damage of defect which is likely to pose a threat to the public or staff safety.
• Be fully conversant with any methods or signals used to alert staff that an emergency has raised.
• Write post event reports and send them to Secure-Ops head office
• Awareness of computer software i.e MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc.
Requirements;
Candidates seeking employment with the Company must be:
• experience in leading a team.
• Able to work on weekends, bank holidays and late evenings
• Able to effectively communicate with people from diverse backgrounds
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work under stressful and tight deadlines as well as the ability to manage in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, discerns patterns in details.
• Think through problems for logical solutions, and remain calm and professional under stress.
• Strong decision making ability during both crisis and non-crisis situations.
• Able to work with highly confidential information.
• Must be able to speak clearly, give direction, and provide guidance to employees and security staff during emergencies.
• Able to prepare clear and concise report.
• Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of Leadership.
• Have a five year checkable employment history or be able to produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self- employment or full and part time education during that period
Location: Mainly ExCeL Centre (E16 1XL) plus other venues in London and on occasion outside of London.
We offer minimum of 160 hours per month contract and probation period of 3 months, leading to a permanent position after successful completion of a probationary period. You will accrue holidays on a pro-Rota basis.
Salary: £21,450 / Annum (There is plenty of overtime available throughout the year)
