The Herne Tavern is a classic Victorian pub tucked away on Forest Hill Road in East Dulwich, opposite the glorious green space that is Peckham Rye.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking head chef to take control of our current kitchen team. Food at The Herne is a fresh and seasonal mix of pub classics and modern British food. We also cater for many functions including weddings for up to 100, wakes and parties.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar setting, great cooking skills and lots of passion. You will be a good communicator, calm under pressure and thrive in a busy environment as well keen to work with management to grow the food side of the business.
The job entails all aspects of kitchen management including:
- Stock control
- General Practitioner control
- Health and safety
- Wage control
