We care about our food, customers and our team by ensuring we provide high quality items at affordable prices with exceptional customer service and the opportunity for our team to develop.The Role:To plan, direct and co-ordinate the site activities of the engineering team and any external support service in order to ensure full availability of all Wasabi assets and services. Key Responsibilities:Manage your operating budgets, monitoring the cost effectiveness, and reliability of process engineering activities to optimise resources, prioritise spending and ensure standards are met Drive the engineering function to provide good manufacturing process that comply with both Food Safety and Health Safety StandardsTo work closely with the production and engineering teams to ensure that their requirements are understood and met in fullTo ensure that all assets are maintained to the highest standard, all records are up to date and effective levels of spares are maintained. Ensure that all work is accurately recorded and that all machine maintenance schedules are adhered to and reflect the running requirements of the business Devise and deploy an engineering strategy which supports the manufacturing unit strategic goals and implant with all company and legislative standards Continuously develop and improve the site assets base through effective design, construction and installation of good manufacturing processTo work with the GM and FD to create a realistic annual engineering budget Developing the Health and Safety strategy and promote Health and Safety amongst the teamTo be an active member of the site HACCP team Select, lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of professional engineers to ensure that engineering operations are completed on time, within budget and to agreed targets and standards Managing contractors and controlling the allocation of work to engineering suppliersTo provide 'Hands On' support to the engineering team members as and when requiredTo co-ordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to achieve goals and directing the integration of technical services as assigned by the General ManagerTo keep up to date with new technological developments in all areas related to your job role Monitor the Planned Preventive Maintenance System to enable proactive maintenance whilst minimising risk Work closely with all other departments, where required, to facilitate operations and ensure that the best costing opportunities are achieved Deliver all assigned KPI'sOur Requirements:Being self-motivated and focused Leadership - providing clear and consistent leadership always Problem solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions Time Management - Managing own time and the time of others Being able to work as part of a teamBe a clear communicator Have a good understanding of Excel and Word and other associated computer programs Degree or HNC qualification.
