Brunswick East, in the heart of Dalston is looking for a new head chef, to take the reigns of our renowned brunch destination.
Established 3 years ago, Brunswick East has a serious reputation for all things brunch and coffee. Our reputation for creative and delicious food, is built from our desire to produce outstanding brunch dishes, more in tune with the Melbourne brunch scene, from where we hail.
Being Australians, we are looking for a dedicated chef who understands the might of the Australian brunch culture, and that brunch to Australians is a little more than a full English (no offense!) We pride ourselves on using quality producers (quality first every time for us), and designing menus around seasonality.
For the right chef, we offer:
A fantastic work life balance 45 – 50 hours a week, which includes 2 days off a week.
No evening service (yes, you get your evenings back!)
A fantastic salary including holidays and bonuses.
A supportive environment where cutting chef hours and trying to cut costs through produce isn’t the way of life.
From you, we will expect:
experience in curing, smoking, fermenting, pickling, baking, pastry and modern gastronomic techniques (We care deeply about the food we produce and as such make most things in house)
Dedication to always strive for the best
You will have a passion for vegetarian and vegan food (Whilst we are not exclusively a vegetarian or vegan restaurant, a good portion of our menu leans this way, because at the end of the day, delicious food is delicious any way you look at it)
An ability to produce and maintain extremely high standards from our kitchen at all times (no cowboys thanks)
You will work well under pressure doing high volume covers.
You will have an ability to lead a team and inspire us with creative approach to menu writing and all things brunch.
experience in South East Asian / Japanese / modern Australian and British food an advantage.
