For over 5 decades our client has been a supplier of Linen to local caterers and restaurants, enabling them to become one of the largest hirers of bespoke linen in the event industry.
The Role:
- To deliver and collect client orders in a highly motivated, forward thinking manner on a daily basis with the highest level of professionalism
- To provide a reliable transportation service to client locations with safety a top priority
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Liaise closely with Transport Manager on a daily basis, giving feedback and experiences on deliveries and collections.
- To ensure that any defect and/or vehicle accidents are reported to the Transport Supervisor or Operations Director immediately.
- Liaise closely with the Transport Supervisor to ensure that all client delivery and collection information received is clear and concise.
- Develop an understanding of client needs, for deliveries and collections and build up and maintain an excellent relationship with them.
- To obtain a customer signature upon delivery of goods to the client.
- To maintain up most professionalism when in the presence of the client for both deliveries and collections.
- Maintain company dress code throughout your working day, especially in front of clients.
- Ensure all deadlines for deliveries and collections are met as specified.
- To only drive vehicles for which you hold a current license, and report any loss/change to you’re licence immediately to your line manager.
- Make sure that your van and is unloaded at the end of your run and any relevant information is passed onto the check-in area team.
- To ensure that you drive within all current EEC driving rules and regulations.
- Whenever attempting a delivery or collection, you park your vehicle legally and within parking regulations stated in the area.
- To plan your route effectively on a daily basis.
- When driving and using the phone, hands free kits and headsets must be used at all times.
- When out of the vehicle, you must wear high visual jacket at all times.
- When driving, your seatbelt must be work at all times.
- Ensure all petrol receipts are handed to Transport Supervisor.
- To assist in warehouse/laundry duties when there is no requirement to drive.
