Eating a balanced diet can have a massive impact on well-being, particularly for older people. If you love healthy food and are passionate about sharing your knowledge, why not support those who would like to make positive changes to their diet?
We run fun, interactive cooking sessions held in communal kitchens in sheltered housing. We're looking for keen cooks to get involved in demonstrating, planning and facilitating them. Not only educational, these sessions are a brilliant way to bring potentially isolated older people together to socialise and make new friends.
If you're a qualified nutritionist looking to work with an older client group, you can provide invaluable one-to-one support. Volunteer nutritionists make a massive impact by not only producing meal plans tailored to health needs but also encouraging and supporting older people throughout the process of changing their diet. This includes buying the right foods on a budget, demonstrating how to cook delicious healthy meals and boosting people's motivation to change for the better.
Whether food is your hobby or your profession, we'd love to hear from you!
What are they looking for?
A passion for and knowledge of healthy, tasty food and the desire to share this with older people. Qualifications are not necessary but if you have a nutrition qualification or are working towards one we'd love to hear from you.
