DESCRIPTION:
The role would suit a hands on Deputy Manager that has the capabilities to support the Warehouse Manager to run the warehouse, function independently and who would look to review processes and increase efficiency.
This is a full time position, and you will manage (together with the Warehouse Manager) across all areas of Distribution Centre (Stock control, Warehouse operations) and also be responsible for a team of warehouse staff and drivers.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
• Support the manager to maintain effective warehouse staff performance through training, mentoring, motivation, discipline and ongoing review.
• Support the manager to reduced Temps cost and save money through improved efficient. To perform tight controls in house of pre-preparation with work creating test Scripts, SOP’s and putting in place a training schedule for the Distribution Centre team.
• To support the manager to ensure that the daily targets are achieved in a correct manner, with no picking errors.
• To ensure high standards of health and safety, security and housekeeping are met at all times.
• To support the manager to implement weekly budgets.
• To improve in house operation KPI’s.
• Categorise warehouse to support fast turners, creating standard BDCM1 location for each SKU with clear identification and better management of hours as a result of the budget reporting.
• Flexibility both in terms and duties within the warehouse and in hours of work to ensure that business needs are met.
• To unload loose carton loads by hand, ensuring accuracy and using safe and correct pallet configurations.
THE CANDIDATE:
• Previous experience of management within a warehouse environment.
• Can demonstrate examples of improvements/changes within a Warehouse.
• Ability to liaise at all levels.
• Computer literate.
