Deputy Nursery Manager Needed

Posted: 91 days ago
Place: Southwark, London

Leo's Den Nursery is an expanding SE London nursery school, located close to Bermondsey and Borough.
We are an OFSTED Good nursery and are currently registered to take 43 children between the ages of 4 months and 5 years old. We also have a planning application in to increase the capacity by an additional 24 places.
Our Nursery Manager is an Owner/Director of the company and she is looking to step back from day to day activities to concentrate on the growth of the business (we also own a catering company).
We are therefore looking for an additional Deputy Nursery Manager to assist with the day to day running of the nursery. This is a perfect step up for a current room leader or a great role for an existing deputy who wants to join an expanding nursery.
The Head Office of the nursery deals with all sales and purchase ledger activities, as well as the production of payroll for the nursery, daily production on the nursery's hot food, and initial recruitment of all of the nursery staff.
The Nursery Manager will continue to deal with things such as weekly rotas for the staff, and the creation/implementation of policy - this will be done hand in hand with the Deputy Managers.
The Deputy Managers ensure that all planning is up to date, the observations are updated, transitions and development summaries are produced for each child and that the welfare and safeguarding of the children are maintained. You will also have plenty of time to work with the children directly as well as build relationships with the parents. You will also do show arounds for potential parents.
This is an ideal opportunity for somebody to extend their skills within nursery management. You should already have a minimum of a Level 3 within early years learning, as well as good understanding of EYFS and a minimum of 2 years operational experience within a similar environment.
The company provides 28 days of paid annual holidays plus in work pension contributions. Live-in accommodation is possible for up to 3 months if required. Salary will be from £21,000pa depending on skills and experience.
Although the position is full time, a part or flexi time person would be considered (paid on a pro-rata basis). The nursery is open from 7.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
In the first instance please send your CV with a cover note to Tony Hailwood, Managing Director of the nursery.
