Rhubarb is expanding its team at the world's busiest airport!
Pilots Bar and Kitchen provides an all-day premium food and beverage concept with a 1950s theme to travellers in Heathrow with Sleek interiors and a vintage palette with aeronautical design features displayed throughout the space. Both Pilots Bar and Kitchen outlets speedily serve a range of dishes including American pancakes, eggs Benedict, freshly-made pastries and muffins, soups, sandwiches, salads and a dedicated burger menu.
rhubarb have been providing the American Airlines London Heathrow first and business class lounges since 2010. Over 600 American Airlines travellers per day enjoy the Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge. Rhubarb provides a fresh and dynamic complimentary lounge menu to travellers offering breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, with both buffet and a la Carte service.
We are now seeking a talented and enthusiastic Deputy General Manager to join our fun and energetic team and help oversee all rhubarb outlets within Heathrow Airport, so come and be a part of the story rhubarb is writing.
Job role
- Reporting into the General Manager and Travel Director, as AGM you will achieve operational and commercial success for the restaurants and the American Airlines Business and First Class Lounges.
- To be fully versed in all duties within the both restaurants and lounge operations in order to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery, proactively seeking improvements and reacting to challenges as they arise.
- To manage/oversee and also implement all service standards as set by rhubarb across all our venues within the airport.
- To operate within the current SOP standards as set for the overall operations.
- To deputise in the absence of the General Manager.
- Responsible for the execution of all duties relating to the roles of the Restaurant -
- Managers/Supervisors and Shift Leaders.
Candidate profile
- Your previous working experience must demonstrate a background in either a 5* hotel, fast paced retail operation, bar or restaurant will provide a close fit with rhubarbs values.
- A Hospitality management degree or bachelor in applied science in BA, hospitality, catering or event management or equivalent education would be beneficial but not essential.
- You will be an excellent team player, able to communicate at all levels and commit to sharing your knowledge and skills.
- You will have the ability to motivate, develop and lead the team by demonstrating Initiative and enthusiasm
- You will have a proven track record of achieving and exceeding set operational targets and work experience within a similar FMG/ retail or fast paced environment.
- You will be proficient within MS office, display great attention to detail and are methodological in your work approach.
- You must show and demonstrate relevant diplomacy and tact, maintain confidentiality at all times

The salary will be competitive, Topped by service tronc allocation and combining diverse benefits such as EAP, pension, medical and denplan cover, childcare vouchers, etc.
