We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Care Manager to join our growing team based in Harrow.
You will provide strong, strategic leadership to the company and lead a team dedicated to supporting customers to maintain their independence and to achieving their aspirations and goals.
You must want customers to experience a standard of care that would be good enough for your own family. This means valuing the unique qualities of each customer and seeing the whole person, not just a list of care needs. It is essential that you are passionate about promoting the dignity and rights of each customer.
You will enjoy a collaborative working relationship with the Registered Manager, Company Directors and staff to grow the business and continuously improve the service.  There will be plenty of opportunities to use your initiative and apply creative problem solving skills to manage the day to day service. A calm manner and the ability to think clearly whilst under pressure are essential for this important role.
You will also need to apply the principles of good care management and use your excellent organisational skills together with a high level of accuracy to ensure the efficient running of the company.
As a brand ambassador for Bluebird Care, you will be part of a strong supportive team, championing the rights of our customers.
Key responsibilities

Effective management of the day to day running of the business.
Allocate resources and monitor performance to deliver high quality, safe and effective homecare to customers.
Manage the team of coordinators, supervisors, admin staff and provide sound leadership to ensure staff are clear about their respective duties and responsibilities and have the support they need to carry out their roles safely.
Manage new care assistants within their probationary period undertaking reviews and appraisals.
Manage the safety and quality of the business.
Maintain full and accurate records and reporting systems.
Implement and manage quality management and improvement systems.
Effectively manage complaints and incidents.
Ensure there are sufficient staff allocated appropriately to meet the business’s needs.
Implement company policy and procedures in relation to managing absence, disciplinary, capability and grievance matters.
Ensure on-call emergency issues are dealt with effectively.
Be responsible for the safe delivery of our care service in line with legislative requirements and company policy and procedures.

Essential Requirements

Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within homecare.
Minimum of 1 years’ experience working in a management role within homecare.
Minimum of NVQ/QCF level 3 in Health and Social Care.
Have (or be working towards) a QCF level 5 in Care or an equivalent qualification.
experience working in various roles within homecare such as Care Assistant, Support Worker, Coordinator, Field Care Supervisor, Team Leader, On-call support, Human Resources etc.
Be fully practiced and up to speed with CQC requirements.
Excellent understanding of the principles of high quality person centred care and support and non-discriminatory care practice.
A strong commitment to always promoting the rights of each customer and to keep their wishes at the centre of their care and support.
Caring and compassionate towards people in need of care and support.
Excellent time management skills
Strong organisational/planning skills
Very high attention to detail

Desirable Requirements
Recent experience working as either a Registered Manager or Deputy Care Manager within homecare.
