At The Hummingbird Bakery, the home of American baking, our success does not simply rest on the deliciousness of our cakes or the ambiance of our bakeries; it rests on the dedication of our staff.

We rely on our brilliant delivery drivers to bring the taste of authentic American baking to our customers, ensuring our cakes arrive in one piece and looking as beautiful and fresh as the moment they left our bakeries. They will be delivering a little slice of joy and happiness with every order that goes out and they will need to remember that the deliveries in their van are special occasions waiting to happen for our customers.

Our new driver will go the extra mile to insist that the cakes our bakers have crafted with care arrive promptly and pristinely at their correct address.

As an ambassador for The Hummingbird Bakery, our driver will need to be courteous, friendly and professional at all times and will be an enthusiastic representative of our company and its values.

As well as having bags of cake, personality and drive (pardon the pun), the driver we’d love to come and work with us will have:

•     A full, clean UK driving licence

•     Fluent English and excellent communication skills.

•     The ability to deliver exceptional customer service.

•     A dedication to being punctual, dependable and committed.

•     The ability to undertake vehicle safety checks and operate the on-board refrigeration. The vehicle needs to be fully maintained and in great working order both internally and externally.

•     Good all round physical fitness and strength (a 10” Rainbow Cake is heavier than you’d think…)

•     Organisational skills to plan their driving route and the ability to meet deliveries in a timely fashion as set out on the daily order sheets.

•     Excellent geographic knowledge and problem-solving skills (a navigation system is provided, but this is no replacement for a driver’s initiative when there are unforeseen roadworks)

•     A smart and tidy appearance (uniform is provided)

•     Last but not least, a cheerful smile!

•     You’ll receive a competitive salary package at £9.50p/h.
