Delivery Driver - Full-time role
Button and Sprung is a bed and mattress retailer, selling through a single showroom in Fulham, London, launched in May 2014 and with customers all over the UK.
We are looking for a Full-Time Delivery Driver to be part of our two-man delivery team, based in Fulham, who will deliver beds to homes in the South of England, South-West and the Midlands. As we expand, we will be adding more delivery teams which in turn will lead to further opportunities for the right person.
The role includes
Unloading weekly deliveries from our suppliers and putting away in our warehouse (below our showroom and office in Fulham).
Loading, driving and unloading a 3.5 tonne Luton van. Driving will be shared with the other delivery team member.
Calling customers to advise on arrival time or in case of delays.
Delivering and assembly furniture in our customers’ homes, Monday to Friday. Some Saturday work may be required, but by exception. You will always be working in a team of two, with 6 to 10 drops on average per day.
Carrying of bed and mattress into the customer’s bedroom, bed assembly, removal of packaging and old mattress when required.
Collection of beds and mattresses and returning these to the warehouse.
Occasional overnight stays in hotels when delivering outside of London.
Maintaining a well-organsied and laid out warehouse.
The right person for this role must be
The holder of a clean UK Driving Licence for at least 3 years.
Over 25 years old.
Punctual, hard-working, honest, reliable and friendly.
Positive, practical and savvy with a can-do attitude.
A fluent English speaker who is good at engaging and talking with customers whether that is face-to-face or over the telephone.
Prepared to work flexible hours, with early morning starts and some late finishes
Physically fit as manual lifting is required.
Successful candidates who prove they are hardworking and reliable will be offered a permanent position, after their initial probation period.
Hours are usually 7am to 6pm with an hourly rate of £9.15/hour. Flexibility is required and we will pay overtime for hours over 45 per week.
