Riverford is one of the largest organic home delivery business in the UK. This delivery driver role is based in the South West London franchise. We are looking for someone with a ready smile and the ability to make a difference to our customers’ days. Our drivers are the face of Riverford and often the only people our customers come in to contact with from Riverford.
You should be organised with the ability to work accurately at a good pace. If you encounter a customer with their hands full your instinct will be to find out where they want the delivery to go. If customers are not around then we follow the instructions they have left for us.
Reliability and communication are crucial to the success of this role. We need someone who is going to arrive on time and deliver consistently in the same order for each round. Equally things do happen and when they do, communication is important. You should be used to dealing with customers and the team in the office, either face to face or over the phone. Problem solving skills and common sense are essential.
Pay
The pay is structured per delivery with a loading fee, and typically works out at more than £10 per hour. The role is initially 2 days per week (8 to 10 hours per day) - Monday and Tuesday, plus holiday cover when needed.
A typical driving day
Once you have loaded your van, you will head out to start your deliveries in the South West London area. Typically you will have around 80 deliveries to do each day, with a combination of our vegboxes and extra items that we sell. Once finished the van is returned to our depot.
