Job Overview

Working as a member of the Event Sales Team you will be involved in all aspects of delegate acquisition and sales, including sourcing new attendees, maintaining data in the CRM, and building existing industry relationships. The responsibilities of this role are attendee communication and acquisition for DCD EMEA or NAM events. You will be involved in B2B telesales, cross selling and up-selling clients on the DCD portfolio of products and services. The role involves end-to-end client management including: telesales, record keeping, invoicing, client facing event registration desk work, resolving client issues, documentation and database use.

This position is on a temporary base contract and can be potentially extended to a permanent role.

Primary responsibilities

• B2B telesales, contacting existing and potential delegates about conferences, events, training and other products and services. Implement team campaigns as instructed, manage end-to-end client relationships and provide feedback.
• Source relevant contacts within the design/build and own/operate verticals within data centres, IT and facilities management and operations, adding them to the CRM system and sending relevant marketing material and correspondence.
• Understand the conference focus and program, and researching the event and industry which you are promoting to keep clients and fellow staff informed of news and relevant developments within the industry.
• Communicating with potential delegates describing how the program and the benefits of attendance at DCD events worldwide can assist those working in the data centre and information technology mission critical industry.
• Use of all appropriate resources available such as research and marketing literature to provide a value proposition to attendees ensuring that you are persistent and provide a high level of customer service at all times.
• Ensuring that all leads and contacts are followed up in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintaining the company CRM system ensuring that contact information is accurate and relevant and recording all activity with regard to events and training are booked and confirmed and issued to accounts for payment.
• Work with the finance team to ensure all delegate payments are made prior to attendance at events or training.
• Communicating and liaising with the Sponsorship sales and on-line sales teams for potential event sponsors, and online/print advertisers.
• Communicating contact details with the content and editorial teams for potential speakers, panellists, and news content.
• Onsite event work including the time required for travel and preparation, as well as performance of pre and post event activities, and other duties as instructed throughout the event by management and coordinators.
Desired Skills and experience
• Telesales and telemarketing experience; B2B and Cold/Warm Calling.
• High standard of interpersonal skills, professional confidence and tenacity.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Strong sense of customer service and client management.
• Ability to communicate technical information to all audiences.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM, Databases.
