Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Data Protection Manager to join our team in London. The successful applicant will join us on a full time, fixed term basis and will receive a salary of £42,000 - £50,000 per annum.
Peabody and Family Mosaic have merged, creating a new housing association providing 55,000 homes to 111,000 people across London and the South East. Our combined scale and strong focus on London will uniquely position us to revolutionise housing delivery and redefine best practice – and you will be central to making it happen.
This is an interesting and challenging time for Peabody in both preparing for the new General Data Protection Regulation (due in May 2022) and combining the processes of Peabody and Family Mosaic to ensure continued compliance with data protection legislation. This is a crucial post within the organisation and we are therefore seeking an experienced Data Protection Manager.
We are looking for a motivated and flexible Data Protection Manager who can support the Group Data Protection Officer in delivering a 12-month project to align data protection processes within the new organisation as well as deliver a GDPR compliance programme. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to work in a varied role which will require that individual to work across several different areas: Care and Support; Resident Services; Community Programs; Sales and Development; and Research and Customer Insight.
Essential Knowledge, experience and Skills required by the ideal Data Protection Manager:
Essential:
- experience in a data privacy role
- An up to date knowledge of data protection legislation and the new General Data Protection Regulation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience in delivering excellent customer care and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets.
- Proven time management, organisational and prioritisation skills
- Discretion and confidentiality
- Willingness to increase and share professional knowledge to build capacity and capability within the Governance, Legal and compliance teams.
- Curiosity and interest in different aspects of the business and operations.
- Empathy with Peabody’s vision as a charity and social housing provider.
Desirable:
- experience of delivering training
Qualifications required by the Data Protection Manager:
- Educated to degree level and holding a relevant Data Privacy qualification or equivalent
