Data Analytics Assistant Manager - Banking.
London
£47500 - £52500 Per annum

A banking client is looking for a Data Analytics Assistant Manager to be based in Canary Wharf. The role will pay up to £52,500 basic salary plus benefits, pension, bonus, PMI plus extras.

Within this role, you will further develop existing Excel, VBA and Access skills with a wide network of modellers sharing problems, solutions, knowledge and best practice. In addition to the core skills above you will have the opportunity to work with; SQL, Qlik View, Tableau and the Microsoft BI stack.

Projects and Skills required:

Data Modelling and Visualisation:
- The design, implementation or analysis of data-oriented structures.
- Design and build of ETL tools, databases and queries.
- Visualisation and Analytics using software such as Qlik View, Tableau and Power Pivot.

Qualifications and Skills:
- A first-class or upper second-class degree in a numerate subject (finance, economics, computer science, engineering, maths, science) or equivilent.
- Strong IT skills (Excel, VBA, Access and SQL)
- Ability to build business models (transaction and operational modelling) in best practice.
- Ability to build data models or risk models in best practice.
- Ability to scope, design and build in Excel, VBA, Access and SQL.
- Ability to describe complex technical issues in a clear and non-technical way.
- A strong understanding of accounting and financial concepts.
- Knowledge of financial services products and key concepts.

Highly Regarded:
- Professional qualification; CFA, ACA, Cima, MBA, PhD etc.
- Data visualization experience in Qlik View, Tableau and others.

experience and Background:
- Design and develop complex business models.
- Manage the collection, review and challenge of assumptions for data to be used in models.
- Manage version control and ensure an audit trail is created by all models.
- Contribute to development of the modelling team e.g. In-house tools, standardising best practice, finding internal and external opportunities.
- Build and maintain a network of key client staff.
- Manage juniors to effectively achieve project goals whilst developing the juniors.
- Excellent at solving problems with good organisation and planning skills.
- Takes personal responsibility and accountability for own work.
- Strong communicator with the personal skills to build strong client relationships.
