Friendly household looking to recruit an experienced, live-out housekeeper to look after the household and family of 3 teenage children and two good-natured, affectionate and small Italian Greyhound dogs in Hampstead NW3.
Excellent house cleaning is essential to take care of the house, ensuring that it is always clean, neat and tidy.
A love of dogs is essential as regular dog walking will be required. An interest in cooking is advantageous, as would be ironing.
We’re looking for someone with previous Private Household experience who is proactive, practical, has a good eye for detail and can work on their own initiative with no supervision.
Excellent English essential. Unless you are a fluent speaker please don’t apply.
The holiday time (mainly July-August) is significantly quieter than term time so you must be flexible to take holiday in these periods.
Start Date – Immediate. (May 15)
Working Hours – 25 hours per week. Half days in the afternoon 2-7pm preferably.
Pay negotiable depending on your skills and experience. A minimum of three years in private households is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cleaning
- Tidying and cleaning kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and all living and communal areas
- Keeping exterior pathway and garden clean and tidy
Cooking and Stock Control
- Preparing evening meal as required (Although ideally, we would like a Housekeeper who can cook, this is not a deciding factor, and we would consider candidates who did not cook)
- Maintaining stock control of cleaning supplies
- Handling debit cards and keeping receipts
Laundry
- Collecting, washing and ironing laundry including bed linen changes. Hand washing delicate items and returning items to the appropriate places
- Taking items to dry-cleaning
Other
- Feeding and exercising dog
- putting food delivery away in kitchen weekly
- Answering door as required
- Watering household plants
- Dealing with tradesmen, suppliers and contractors as required
- Assisting with household errands as required
- Carrying out any other tasks that may reasonably be asked
But we're also keen to find someone with an eye for detail and an ability to independently spot things that need to be done around the house. You should figure out when things need to be done without being told.
You need to be able to maintain a 4-bedroom 4-floor semi-detached home.
