Hackney Homes are offering the opportunity for an ambitious individual to join their Income Services team as a Credit Controller on a 12 month fixed term contract. During this time you will gain valuable work experience as well as on the job training which will set you up for a successful and rewarding career.
About the role
As a Credit Controller, you will provide information and advice on all aspects of rent and other charges due to Hackney Council. You will work to maximize payments and minimise arrears and take appropriate action to recover new debts and cases at the early stages of the arrears procedure.
You will take responsibility for advising and supporting tenants in understanding rent obligations and payment methods and prevent them from falling into arrears by providing sound housing and welfare benefits and debt advice.
About you
To be successful in this role you will rely heavily on your ability to find effective solutions to the problems facing vulnerable residents. Demonstrating empathy, understanding and excellent communicational skills, you will consider residents’ needs and provide suitable arrangements to meet them.
Your ability to prioritise and manage a varied caseload will allow you to work to multiple time scales at any one time.
This development scheme will give you the opportunity to develop key skills and experience which allow you to go on to pursue a prosperous and rewarding career, either within the public sector, housing, community roles or elsewhere. This would be an ideal role for a recent graduate looking to take the first step in their new career.
