This is a new and exciting opportunity to join a growing independent quick service food and juice business operating within the healthy eating space.
We’re looking for a reliable and well organised kitchen manager with proven experience to run our CPU in Acton, supervising a team of 5 + production chefs. The candidate should be extremely self-motivated and committed, ideally with an interest or passion for natural foods. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of an exciting and growing business as well as to play an integral role in its ongoing development.
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Key Responsibilities include:
− Overseeing the daily running of the production kitchen
− Responsible for the recruitment and training of production chefs
− Managing rotas
− Supervise teams to ensure the range is consistently produced to an excellent standard of quality and visual presentation
− Running weekly and ad hoc orders
− Developing relationships and liaising with existing and new suppliers
− Liaise with management and suppliers on any issues with regards to quality issues/stock/deliveries
− Adhering to health and safety requirements and maintaining excellent (5/5 current rating) hygiene standards
− Assist with menu development in creating a fresh, organic offering in line with market trends
− Managing production of events, planning menus and ensuring the kitchen is staffed as needed
− Maximize operational efficiency of a production kitchen by minimizing wastage and labour costs wherever possible
− Forecasting sales so as to determine daily production quantities in line with sales and wastage targets
− Meeting production and delivery deadlines and working to COGS targets and within allocated budgets
− Ensuring smooth and timely delivery of products from central production kitchen to retail stores
− Maintaining appropriate reports and records for food safety, organic certification and management reporting
Key requirements:
− Proven experience in a kitchen management role of 2 + years
− Strong knowledge and understanding of the F and B sector with commercial awareness
− Professional with an all-round, multitasking attitude
− Solid leadership and training qualities, enthusiastic and able to motivate a team to achieve excellent quality standards
− Highly organized, positive and calm under pressure. Able to adapt to the flow and quick moving pace of a commercial kitchen
− Highly responsible, self-motivated and autonomous in work ethic
− Excellent communication and management skills
− Analytical, good eye for detail with excellent problem solving skills
− experience in using database/reporting systems
− Able to work full time over 5 days and flexible shifts
− Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety certificate favourable
− Excellent English and eligibility to live and work in the UK
− A passion for natural food is a bonus
− Two references

− Competitive Salary of £30,000 - £35,000 | commensurate with experience
