Leo's Den Nursery is a busy 40 capacity nursery school in SE1. Our location is very close to Tower Bridge Road, Old Kent Road, New Kent Road, Great Dover Street and the train/tube stations at Borough and London Bridge
We are looking for a cook to provide the main lunch meal of the day for the children. We use largely fresh food prepared daily using 4 weekly menus. The food includes dishes like lasagne, curries, casseroles and other items. Generally we cater for about 35 children per day including 2-4 vegetarians.
As the nursery school is part of a catering company, the head office of the catering company does the ordering of the food and can assist with any areas of training needed if you do not have knowledge of all of the dishes.
Cooking will be done on site at the nursery, and after the cooking you will clean down the kitchen and do any necessary planning for the following days.
We can be flexible with regard to the length of the working hours but the minimum requirement would be 9.30am to 12.30pm Monday to Friday ie 15 hours per week. If the candidate was however looking for longer hours we could add additional time assisting in the nursery to cover staff lunch breaks up to 2.30pm. This could take the working hours up to 25 hours per week. Extra evening and weekend work would be possible on the catering side of the business is it was wanted.
The rate of pay would be £8.25 per hour, and 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays) would be paid.
