Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Inspector to join our team in London. The successful applicant will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a salary of £43,000 - £45,000 per annum.

experience and Skills required by the ideal Construction Inspector:
- Ability to work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement.
- Proven experience of inspecting construction (residential new build and refurbishment) works.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven time management and prioritization skills.
- Proven experience and ability to deliver excellent customer care and valuing diversity.
- Be able to demonstrate practical ways of using their skills and knowledge to meet organisational needs
- Proven attention to detail and ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets
- To ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to so that consistent and standard practice is achieved across the organisation
- A commitment to continuing professional development.
- Thorough knowledge of the current Building Regulations
- Thorough understanding of Residential construction (New build and Refurbishment) process including product specification
- To have excellent IT skills including the use of Microsoft based spreadsheets, word processing, time management and emailing software.
- Must be able to accurately read plans, specifications and bills of quantities and advise on performance of specific materials.
- Must be able to meet the daily travel requirements of the post and to have a full UK driving license.
- Must be able to climb onto scaffolding structures, including those of high rise buildings, and climb ladders to effectively carry out required inspections
Qualifications required by the Construction Inspector:
- Preferably Member of the Institute of Clerk of Works and Construction Inspectors or equivalent (CIOB, RICS or Cabe) or experience as Clerk of works or Construction/site manager with reputable organisation.
- Minimum HNC, HND, CIOB or equivalent in construction related subject or a strong trade background
- Health and safety training, holder of CSCS card.
