Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Community Development Officer to join our team in London. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a salary of £31,704-£33,000 per annum.
The Community Development Officer role:
We are recruiting a Community Development Officer to join our busy London wide Community Development Team.
The role involves managing and developing a range of partnerships through our network of community centres around London, as well as advising residents and staff seeking to establish initiatives across a patch of Peabody care and support schemes. There is a high degree of autonomy in this role, so we are looking for someone highly organised, but also flexible and creative.
Key responsibilities of our Community Development Officer:
- Update and maintain systems/ records to ensure that information/data is kept up to date and accurate and that KPI’s are met.
- Ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to so that consistent and standard practice is achieved across the organisation.
- Follow Peabody Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure, as far as is practicable, your own safety and that of others in the workplace. You may be required to undertake specific Health and Safety roles such as Fire Warden or First Aider as part of your duties.
- Play an active role in achieving the Directorate's strategic objectives.
- Prepare, monitor and deliver individual and team targets/budgets in line with the Peabody business plan.
Skills/experience required by the Community Development Officer:
- Ability to work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven time management and prioritisation skills.
- Proven experience and ability to deliver excellent customer care and valuing diversity.
- Proven attention to detail and ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets.
- Ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to so that consistent and standard practice is achieved across the organization.
- A thorough understanding of best practice in community development.
- Preferably educated to degree level
