Commis Chef
We are currently looking for a Commis Chef to join our hard working and professional kitchen brigade. Reporting to the Chef de Partie, the Commis Chef will assist the team in ensuring that all duties within the Kitchen are carried out according to the procedures set out by Health and Safety Laws and the Union Jack Club standards.
The Commis Chef will be responsible for:
Running a section but may be required to assist with food preparation of other sections.
Assisting with stocktaking, management of kitchen hygiene, food storage and supervising Commis Chefs.
Working effectively within the Kitchen Brigade to ensure high level of service standards
Checking that all food is stored and used in rotation to eliminate wastage and adhere to the Health and Hygiene Laws
Following close down procedure at the end of shift to ensure safety of equipment and security of produce is maintained
The ideal candidate will have:
NVQ Level 2/3 in Food production or other related culinary skills qualification
Previous experience in hospitality organisation preferably 4/5 star hotel restaurant
Excellent communication skills and enjoys motivating the team
Excellent awareness of food hygiene standards
