We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Commis Chef to join our Kitchen team.
We are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Commis Chef who has the talent to deliver a 5* service at all times, having a positive and “can do” attitude. It is essential to have excellent communication skills, team work attitude and great attention to detail.
The main duties and responsibilities of a Commis Chef are:
1. To carry out all tasks as directed by your immediate supervisor/ manager and to assist in any other areas or duties within the kitchen/ hotel upon request
2. To take ownership that you are aware of your scheduled working hours (subject to change) and work to them on a weekly basis.
3. To work as an individual and as part of a team by assisting in the preparation of mise-en-place and service for the section / department.
4. To take ownership and check mise en place levels and quality for the section. Complete a mise en place list in order of priority and liaise with your supervisor prior to commencing the tasks.
5. To cook and present food to the correct standard as outlined in the outlet specification manual and as per standards recommended by Leading Hotels of The World.
6. To take ownership on correct portion control and that wastage is kept to a minimum and to ensure that correct stock rotation is evident within the section
7. To provide a quick and efficient service at all times.
8. To pro-actively attend the morning meeting in Executive chef’s office and communicate key information at the daily section briefing.
9. To take ownership for kitchen cleanliness at all times. To take care of your uniform, your personal appearance and hygiene in accordance with hotel policy and procedure
10. To maintain good working relations with your team and all other members of staff in the kitchen
Other Duties and responsibilities:
1 To attend all mandatory training shows.
2 To assist with any duties as assigned by the Demi chef de Partie
3 To be aware of and comply with the hotel fire and emergency procedures
4 To be aware of and comply with all Hotel Health and Safety procedures
5 To hold a valid foundation Food Hygiene certificate and to be aware of and work to the procedures stated in the Landmark food safety manual.
6 To isolate and report to Engineering / Supervisor any equipment or machinery which you believe is faulty
he ideal candidate for the Mini Bar Attendant is required the following:
• experience in customer service
• A positive and friendly attitude
• Someone who enjoys working on their own during most of the shift
• Ability to work under pressure and still deliver a friendly service
• Fluency in English
• Polite and welcoming manners
• Eligibility to work in the UK
