New Bloomsbury Set is an independent cocktail bar based in the heart of Bloomsbury (nearest tube Russel Square / Kings Cross St. Pancras). We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Shift Supervisor to join our small team on a full time basis. Although we are small venue we have big aspirations! Our ideal candidate will:

Be passionate about cocktails and premium spirits with demonstrable experience as a shift manager or senior bartender looking to progress.
Be innovative, collaborative and hands on in their approach with impeccable attention to detail.
Lead by example and provide on-going training and coaching to new and existing staff to ensure exceptional customer service.
Project a friendly, confident and outgoing persona, ensuring that customers feel welcomed and enjoy their time in the venue.

Key responsibilities:

Assume responsibility for all aspects of shift management when on duty.
Ensure that the venue is fully prepared for service ahead of opening, that all booking enquiries are dealt with promptly and that any additional pre-opening tasks are carried out.
Promptly serve customers when in service and build a natural rapport with new and regular customers alike.
Maximize profitability and minimise costs by ensuring that; all drinks in service are made to company specifications, all wastage is accounted for and opportunities to responsibly upsell or make recommendations to the customer are applied.

Additional responsibilities:

Key Holder for the venue Opening/Closing as the Rota requires (or outside of service hours where applicable) in accordance with company policy.

Working collaboratively with the management team:

Generate sales leads in the local function, event and business community and develop a wide network of ambassadors and advocates for the business.
Entice and retain customers with creative event planning, an engaging social media presence and curating a fun, safe, and friendly environment.
Perform administrative back office tasks e.g. Stock management, stock and non-stock order preparation, basic data entry etc.
Input into the quarterly business plan / forecast reviews and contribute to defining plans and targets.
Undertake additional assignments and projects as directed to continue developing the venue and interests of the business.

Candidates wishing to apply for this position should have (or be prepared to obtain) the following qualifications:

A valid personal license
A valid Door Supervisor license issued by the Security Industry Authority.
First aid certificate
