Club Secretary Wanted in London

Located in the stunning heart of the Scottish Highlands, our client, a large Sporting Estate is looking for a mature, responsible and professional Club Secretary to be the first point of contact for all enquiries and visitors. Primarily charged with answering enquiries from Club Members, visitors and suppliers, you will be taking bookings from guests, arranging pre-arrival inventories, overseeing and taking payments and keeping paperwork and financial recording up to date. In addition to this you will be answering email and telephone enquiries and assisting the Club Director with all administrative duties for the smooth running of a busy and exclusive Private Members Club.
Whilst a background in hospitality isn’t essential, it would be useful, and more importantly a sound understanding of Sage and Excel would be required. With stable Monday to Friday hours, and a pretty little cottage on the Estate available if needed, this would be a wonderful role for someone looking for an outdoorsy life, who loves being in the thick of things and who is keen on a long term, inclusive role as part of a vibrant team.
Hours: Mon-Fri 09 h000 – 18 h00 or 08 h00 – 17 h00
Location: Speyside – Scottish Highlands
Salary: £24,000 + accommodation
Start Date: Immediate
Interviewing: Immediate
Notes: The Estate is remote, so a non-driver would struggle
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
♦ Answering phone calls and emails from new and existing members
♦ Taking bookings for overnight stays, or day visits
♦ Inputting financial recording into Sage / Excel
♦ Taking payments and recording
♦ Daily administration
♦ Assisting the Club Director with ad hoc needs and secretarial requirements
♦ Being the face / voice of the Estate for all enquiries
Candidates must be / have:
♦ Professional, presentable and speak perfect English
♦ Prior experience with book-keeping, Excel and Sage
♦ Prior experience within a hospitality environment would be an advantage
♦ Smiley, friendly and with a good telephone manner
♦ Willing to Muck in and help with all aspects of daily life
♦ Meticulously organised and have impeccable email etiquette
♦ Confidential and discreet
♦ Down to earth, unflappable and a real multi-Tasker
♦ Service oriented with excellent organization and communication skills
♦ Have proof of right to work in the UK
♦ A love of the great outdoors – this role is on a 28,000acre sporting estate, so welly boots are the norm…
