Clinical Director – Substance Misuse

Full time 35 hours per week, but will consider part time 21 hrs (salary pro-rated)
Magnetic is working with a leading substance misuse service provider to find a confident, motivational, qualified and experienced Doctor (General Practitioner or Psychiatrist in Addictions) to work as Clinical Director, taking the lead on overseeing and developing new clinical treatment services for offenders with drug and alcohol problems in the prison and community setting.
You will have a strong understanding of treatment options in the field of addiction. You will be a confident leader and manager, able to lead and inspire all General Practitioners, nurse prescribers, nurses and other healthcare professionals. Full JD available upon request.
Qualifications required for the Clinical Director
Essential
• MBChB or MBBS
• Inclusion on either the GMC General Practitioner Register or the Psychiatry Addictions Register
• If General Practitioner , must hold RCGP 2 certificate in substance misuse, Part 1 in alcohol misuse and Part 1 in harm minimisation.

• Extensive experience in treating Drugs and Alcohol abuse.
• Management experience.
• Demonstrable ability to provide mentoring and support to all other Clinicians where appropriate.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Previous experience of communicating with people of all capabilities and attitudes.
Desirable
• Management experience in a prison setting.
• experience of working in a prison environment.
• experience of working in offender Health
• experience of being a responsible officer for Control drugs license
Skills
Essential
• Knowledge of methods of developing clinical quality assurance and evidence based practice.
• Evidence of up to date substance misuse treatment knowledge and skills.
