Elton Recruitment are recruiting, on behalf of our client, for a Cleaner. The company’s conference venue centre has multiple uses, it can accommodate meetings from 10 – 1,000 people, houses a restaurant, café and a library. You will be required to work 35 hours per week on rotational shifts from Monday to Friday between 7am to 11pm. The role:
This role involves a range of duties, including: working within unique historic building keep its public areas and offices clean, ensuring values and high standards are followed. It is essential that you enjoy working and dealing with the public and being part of a team.
Responsibilities:
• Clean and maintain every meeting room as directed in the room set up schedule, covering dusting, vacuuming, damp wiping of furniture, glass and woodwork, refuse collecting and stain removal.
• Assist the Conference support team to prepare and set up meeting rooms to include setting furniture, conference cloths, flip charts and pens as required by the client. Topping up comment cards, pencils and other stationary.
• Assist in clearing meeting rooms on departure of catering and equipment when needed for a quick turnaround between sessions.
• Liaise closely with Reception, informing them when meeting rooms are available for clients use.
• Other areas that require cleaning include the garden, main entrances, reception, all corridors and stairs, lifts, bins, fire exits, café, business centre, bookshop, library, all toilets and all offices/ staff kitchens, and form part of the daily cleaning schedules as instructed.
Essential Skills:
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience within a Conference and meeting room environment in a venue of comparable business size with similar production and service standards (e.g. Hotel, Conference Venue)
• Communicate with people face to face, in a customer service environment
• Demonstrable ability to work as a team player
• Demonstrable ability to work unsupervised under own initiative
• Good written and oral communication skills
The package
This is an amazing opportunity, salary £20,657, 35 hours per week, 28 days’ holiday + bank holidays, with contributory pension, season ticket loan, childcare vouchers, subsidized meals. The nature of the hospitality operation means differing shift patterns may occur between the hours of 0700 and 2300 Monday to Sunday, Overtime hours may be asked but not presumed.
