JOB DESCRIPTION
Post title: Cleaner – 15 hours per week
Responsible to: Building and Administration Manager
Job summary: To keep the building clean and to maintain company refuse and
recycling systems. To maintain supplies and alert the Buildings and
Administrations manager to maintenance needs.
Key tasks
Cleaning, recycling and supplies
1 Daily cleaning of the reception area, offices and studios.
2 Daily cleaning of the kitchen and dining areas, including unloading and loading dishwashers.
3 Sweeping and mopping floors of the studios and general areas.
4 Vacuuming of all offices. General wipe down of all clear desk space in the offices.
5 Keeping cleaning supply cupboard tidy and organised.
6 Toilet and sink cleaning.
7 Floor maintenance.
8 Ensuring that common areas are kept to a standard that are in line with Clean Break’s Health and Safety Policy.
9 Awareness of Health and Safety legislation and ability to apply knowledge to the maintenance of the building.
10 Engagement and awareness of Clean Break’s environmental policies.
11 Using products and services that align with Clean Break’s policies and mission statement.
12 Committed to recycling and refuse policies outlined by Clean Break and Camden Council.
Working with the Admin team Administrators
13 Communicating any cleaning supply needs to the Administrative Assistant, notifying her of any shortage of supplies to ensure that the company does not run out of cleaning materials, toilet roll, paper Towels or other supplies.
14 Communicating any building maintenance (plumbing, etc.) needs to the Administrative Assistant as soon as issues arise, including any faulty items around the building.
15 Planning ahead of time of items or services needed for larger, monthly tasks. To have an awareness of room usage on a daily basis to ensure efficient task management.

16 Unlocking the building on arrival if required.
17 Attend staff meetings and training workshops, and other meetings as required by the Building and Administration Manager.
18 Keep up-to-date with company news and activity, and external information circulating which is relevant to our work. Use every opportunity externally to talk about Clean Break’s work and share the company’s mission, values, strategic aims and impact.
19 Play an active role in ensuring equality of opportunity, in accordance with the company’s equality and diversity policy and action plan.
20 Maintain confidentiality and adhere to other Clean Break codes of practice, including Health and Safety.
21 Brief the Building Manager on commitments and weekly plans including meetings, visitors, TOIL and annual leave as agreed, in order that she can maintain the company diary and room schedule.
22 An ability to lift items when cleaning
23 Carry out other tasks as reasonably required by the Building Manager.
