Origin Coffee are looking for 2/3 candidates for our New flagship cafe located right by Southwark Underground station starting on 17th October 2022.  Full and part time positions are available.
We want people who have:

• A real passion for quality food who is a good all rounder in the kitchen. Must have a desire to learn and enjoy all aspects of the kitchen as we will be making breakfasts, brunch, preserves, pastry, cakes, soups, salads and main lunch dishes taking inspiration from all around the world.
• Talent and creativity with a few year’s experience, ideally as a Chef de Partie or above in a fast paced café or restaurant.
• A great work ethic, positive attitude that thrives when busy with an ability to be well organised and stay calm under pressure. You will need to be confident to work alone when required and be able to get along well in a small team with good communication skills.

Origin value their staff well fare so along with support and training for you to develop you will receive the London Living Wage of £10.20 per hour and be contracted for a minimum of 35 hours a week for a full time position with extra hours available. Normal working hours will be day time including weekends.

Origin is one of the leading trainers for Baristas running speciality coffee courses in London.  Free coffee training is available to the successful applicant to help them better understand the company and the coffee we source, roast and sell.

Origin Coffee are shaped by the desire to empower and enthuse people at every stage of the coffee journey. As part of this, our education team teach the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe’s Coffee Diploma and work with some of the UKs most awarded baristas, including the current 2022 UK Barista Champion and 2022 Coffee in Good Spirits Champion.

Attention to detail during every step of the process from plantation to cup, builds the foundation for Origin to supply and Brew cup after cup of incredible coffee. We are set to open a new flagship cafe in the heart of Southwark which will be our first in London with a fully functioning kitchen. The kitchen teams’ task is to incorporate and transfer Origins attention to detail, creativity, consistency and quality to every dish and plate of food we produce.

We will be sourcing direct from suppliers using Food chain whilst incorporating top British produce from Neal’s Yard Dairy, Cannon and Cannon and the Wright Brothers. We will be making our own bacon, pickles and preserves, baking and generally being creative to deliver an exciting weekly changing menu.

We are also looking for a Cook/commis chef/kitchen assistant for our Cafe at the British Library in Euston.
At the British Library we have a small breakfast menu and produce sandwiches and salads for our lunch time offering.  As the role is a new position it is a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to bring their creativity to the company and help develop our food offering along with the Head chef.
We are looking for someone who has

A passion for learning and personal development.  Who has a keen interest in quality food and starting or continuing their development as a cook. Some kitchen experience would be a bonus however full training for the position will be given so we are looking for the correct character as much as relevant previous experience.
The ability to work efficiently on their own and can handle the responsibility of ordering stock, working to deadlines and ensuring food hygiene requirements for the site are completed.
A great work ethic, positive attitude that thrives when busy with an ability to be well organised.  You will need to be confident to work alone when required and be able to get along well in a small team with good communication skills.
Some previous hospitality experience and the confidence to interact with customers as occasionally you might be required to work front of house taking orders.

Origin are opening a new site later this year in Southwark with a larger kitchen and this entry level kitchen position gives the right individual the possibility of progressing into the larger kitchen and further developing their skills.
