We are helping a North London primary school recruit their new Chef Manager. The school has 410 pupils and operates its own catering service, giving the right candidate great freedom to manage and develop the food offer. The school are ambitious for their catering service: they are looking for a fresh cooked offer that meets the needs of the diverse demographic at the school, has synergy with curriculum aims, and is sustainable.
The role of Chef Manager is vital to delivering the schools aims. It is essential that the right candidate will have:

Interest in educating the next generation about food.
experience at Chef Manager level
Enthusiasm and an innovative approach

As the school operate their own catering service, you will not be restricted by buying lists and the constraints that come with contract catering. You will need to have a proactive approach and take ownership for catering; you will be the school's expert. You can set the direction for suppliers, menus, and promoting the service.
You will be supported in your role by the School Business Leader and the school's catering consultants, who assist with food safety and health and safety management.
