About Us
The Quality Chop House is a restaurant, butcher, food and wine shop, and cafe in EC1.
We serve British, locally-sourced and sustained food from our beautiful Grade II listed townhouse on the Farringdon Road. We focus on sourcing the best seasonal produce and we change the menus daily to reflect this. Our meat is sourced whole-carcass from Smalls farms and butchered on-site by our Butcher.
The restaurant first opened in 1869 and was revived in 2013. During those 5 years, our mix of great produce and daily changing menus has proved popular – in June 2022 we were voted 43rd in the National Restaurant awards’ ‘100 Best Restaurants in the UK'.
Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced, creative, and highly motivated Chef De Partie to join our small happy kitchen, to work alongside our Head Chef, Shaun Searley and his team.
You'll be working with the finest seasonal ingredients, to prepare beautiful food. We’re looking for someone passionate, hardworking and willing to commit to at least a year, in return we will offer training in all sections of the kitchen and bakery.
You will also have the unique opportunity to work with and learn from our butchers who source meat - largely whole carcass - direct from a handful of small UK farms. You will also have daily interactions with our shop/cafe production kitchen team, the benefits of regular supplier visits, and the opportunity to learn from our wine team about our extensive lists.
The Ideal Candidate:
Will be highly creative and excited about delivering existing dishes and developing new dishes.
Will have experience in a similar role
Will be passionate about seasonality and sourcing the best ingredients.
You will work 58 hours a week with 2 days off, and there is plenty of opportunity for growth. We provide staff meals, staff discounts and a nurturing environment for you to learn and grow.
