St Georgio Hotel is currently seeking a professional candidate to join our team as a Chef/Cook. You will be responsible for the smooth running of the kitchen during Dinner and Breakfast service and to ensure that the company standards are maintain at all times.
General Requirements
The ideal candidate will have good attention to detail, the ability to work individually and as part of a team plus experience and training in various food styles. Strong Communication skills and a formal qualification (NVQ Level.
2) Is essential for this role but not a must.
General Responsibilities
1. Supplying the highest levels of customer care and service whether in the public eye or in the back of house areas.
2. To ensure prompt arrival on duty at the beginning of each shift.
3. To maintain standards set by the Company for food preparation and presentation at all times.
4. To ensure food temperature checks are carried out and documented as directed by company policy.
5. To adhere to food hygiene regulations and cleaning schedules at all times.
6. To check weekly deliveries and record as directed by company policy.
7. To ensure that all foods are labelled and stored correctly in the dry stores and fridges as per hygiene regulations.
8. To understand how the health and safety policy affects your department and how it links in with the rest of the Hotel.
9. Carry out any other reasonable duties as may be requested from time to time within the scope of the job.
10. All aspects of food preparation, cooking and presenting of dishes according to company guidelines
11. Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment, to include proper storage of food, equipment, utensils and implements, prevention of working environment hazards and accidents at work, following accident, first aid and emergency procedures.
12. Cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting all kitchen areas in accordance with company Standards(Daily/Weekly)
13. Dish washing activities including use of machines (storing, stacking and pre-rinsing), cleaning filters and dish washing equipment
