Pizza Euforia is a highly regarded small restaurant near Wimbledon (SW19 3NT) with 23 covers, a busy home-delivery service and great customer reviews.
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic sous-chef who is ready to take things up a notch and take full responsibility for our kitchen (4-5 evening shifts). We will also train you (if necessary) in traditional pizza baking in a wood-fired oven and you will quickly become responsible for the pizza station 1-2 (slower) evening(s) per week. You will be responsible for your prep as well as stocktaking and ordering.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have prior experience in cooking pastas, flame-grilled burgers and hot/cold starters
- Be willing to learn our successful recipes and style of cooking from day one, exactly as we will teach them to you
- Be very well organised, able to concentrate and manage the order flow during service without mistakes
- Be able to work under the pressure of table, takeaway and home-delivery orders coming together at busy times
- Be creative and able to produce updated items for our next menu as well as special pastas, burgers, salads and starters on a regular basis
- Be fully knowledgeable (even better: certified) in Food Safety and Hygiene. You will take full responsibility for the kitchen team meeting FHS requirements
- Be an excellent communicator, in order to time the production and dispatch of kitchen food with our pizzas from the wood-burning oven
- Be a great team player and respectful of diversity, our small team is multi-cultural and very friendly.
- Live locally and have the right to work in U.K.
The position is full time for 6 evening services including prep time. Remuneration starts at £21,100 gross per year and will quickly rise up to £26,000 gross per year, depending upon proven skills, attitude, ability to consistently deliver our style of cooking and successful completion of your training and probation period. You will be entitled to statutory holidays, workplace pension (if eligible) and, after successful completion of your probation, a share of the Tronc.
The role will be more challenging than anything you’ve done up to now and you’ll need a fresh approach and a strong willingness to learn our systems in the shortest time, but it will also be a very rewarding and satisfying long-term position for the right candidate.
