Job Description: Relief/Support Manager GLF Trading Co.
Job Title: Relief Manager Admin and Support Assistant.
Salary: £18k -£20k per annum (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent - full-time or part time. To precise hours (tba).
Working Hours: Up to 35 per week. Flexible by prior agreement
Annual Leave: 20 days plus Bank Holidays
Location: Principal HQ West Norwood and any location in central London
Reporting to: Retail Services Manager
Retail experience --- You must have retail experience

The Charity and it’s trading subsidiary GLF Trading
Greater London Fund for the Blind (GLFB) was established in 1921 to co-ordinate fundraising for a select number of blind welfare charities.
Today, the GLFB has nine such member charities in receipt of the funds raised, each of whom provide a diverse number of key services aimed at improving the lives of people who are visually impaired.
The Charity also provides special grants to other blind welfare charities to help them develop specific projects across the country.
The Charity also operates a successful trading arm registered as GLF Trading Company. Each year the trading company transfers to the Parent Company any trading surplus made. These funds make a sizable contribution to the funds the Parent company is then able to distribute in support of work with people who are blind or partially sighted primarily but not exclusively within the M25.
We have a range of charity shops mainly in SE and SW London. These shops receive and sell stock generously donated by the general public.
This position will be within the employment of GLF Trading Company and the successful applicant will help deliver the mission of the Greater London Fund for the Blind to raise funds at minimum cost for distribution to a diverse range of blind welfare services and provisions.
Purpose of the role.
The role of Relief Manager covers many aspects of the work in which the Trading Company is engaged.
Essentially we are looking to appoint someone who is a self starter, motivated towards the cause and prepared to work hard to achieve our primary mission.
The Relief Manager will assist the RSM to ensure each shop reach its budget target,
The Relief Manager will monitor each shop daily to ensure it is properly staffed and open at all times and above all operating in a safe, professional and customer focused environment at all times.
The retail manager will help with the set- up of eBay this will include selling items and sending them off to the buyer.
A log of all items for eBay sales are to be recorded for items given from each shop
The role also includes help with setting up Gift aid, training staff and managing procedures.
The role also includes the following:-
• Sorting and displaying the donated stock for the shop floor.
• Recruitment and Training of volunteers
• Arranging window displays.
• Building relationships with staff and customers.
• Ensuring all shops are following the agreed procedure as set out in the shop manual.
• Writing to other retail outlets and asking for any unwanted stock/supplies to be donated
• Daily paperwork and banking as required
• Some office work, supporting the Area manager as and when needed.
• Managing a shop when staff have holidays/sickness
• Undertaking such office work/admin centrally as may be determined by the RSM. This may include selling items on eBay, design work/display notices.
• Help set up and manage Gift aid, which may include training staff and sorting out any problems related to Gift aid.
• Managing the staff Rota when needed.
• Help refit shops as/when needed.
• Help with cleaning shops when needed.
